Places of Arda

Gondor

This was nation founded by men and was the only great nation made by men other than Arnor which was also powerful. Gondor lies west of Mordor and was the last place where Sauron attacked before his fall. It is in the south area of Middle-Earth.

Mordor

This is where Sauron ruled; Mount Doom is located inside Mordor. Mount Doom (Orodruin is its real name) is where the ring was forged and unforged in history. After Sauron's defeat Mordor wasn't lived in for many years; and finally Gondor took control of those lands also. Mordor is protected by mountains forming a rectangle shape around it and in the one opening was the black gate.

The Shire

The Shire is a peaceful land where hobbits rule on Middle Earth. The Shire has many gardens, and plants that the hobbits love. After the war of the ring the Shire became much more popular and men and elves started to visit it more and more. It was the most beautiful place on all of middle earth after the war.

Fanghorn Forest

The Fanghorn Forest is where ents rule. The forest was considered very dangerous and many adventurers would never go there because they feared the ents. It lies east of the Misty Mountains and west of Rohan.

Misty Mountains

This is the chain of mountains that runs through middle-earth. It is very long because it runs Carn Dum all the way almost to Isengard.

Bree

A town where hobbits live; located between the Shire and Rivendell.

Angband

The second fortress of Morgoth that was to made to resist a possible attack from Aman. Morgoth gave it to Sauron to command. It was destroyed during the war of the Wrath.

Beleriand

A massive subcontinent attached to the North west of Middle Earth until the first age. It was swallowed up by the Great Sea after the War of the Silmarils with Morgoth, the first dark lord.
